Glycyrrhize glabra L. is a common medicinal and dual-use food. Glycyrrhiza uralensis extract is a natural sweetener widely used in candy and canned foods. The sweetness of licorice comes from Glycyrrhizic acid and Glycyrrhetinic acid.
